Shai has written for BBC Asian Network's daily radio soap SILVER STREET, followed by his play REALITY CHECK and the co-written RESOLUTIONS.

His Afternoon Play TIL JIHAD DO US PART was broadcast to critical acclaim on BBC Radio 4 in 2010 and he has adapted it for the big screen.

He developed the screenplay COMPANY SAHIB with the support of Screen Yorkshire's Sparks Screenwriting Scheme, and is currently developing two sitcoms (SMALL WORLD and BOYS TO MEN) as well as a drama, SCHOOL OF SAM.

His radio sitcom GENERASIANS was been optioned to NBC/Little Giant and he is now developing it for television. Shai has co-created a comedy drama series, THE WEDDING DETECTIVES with fellow writer, Bill Armstrong.
